Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare a double boiler by filling a small pot with water and placing a heatproof bowl on top, ensuring the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water. Alternatively, use a microwave-safe bowl.
2. Add beeswax, coconut oil, and shea butter into the bowl.
3. Heat gently over medium heat until all ingredients have melted completely, stirring occasionally.
4. Remove from heat and add a few drops of your chosen essential oil if desired.
5. Quickly pour the melted mixture into small containers or lip balm tubes.
6. Let them cool and solidify at room temperature for about 1 hour.
7. Once solid, cap the containers and your lip balm is ready to use.
Materials
1 tablespoon beeswax pellets or grated beeswax
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 tablespoon shea butter or cocoa butter
A few drops of essential oil (optional, e.g., peppermint or lavender)
Small containers or empty lip balm tubes
Double boiler or microwave-safe bowl
Spoon or small spatula
