Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Cut 10-15 cords each about 4 times the desired length of your finished wall hanging.
2. Attach each cord to the wooden dowel using a Lark's Head Knot by folding the cord in half, placing the loop under the dowel, then pulling the ends through the loop over the dowel.
3. Arrange cords evenly along the dowel.
4. Begin knotting using simple square knots: divide cords into groups of 4 and tie a square knot by crossing the outer left cord over the inner two and under the outer right cord, then reverse.
5. Repeat square knots down the length, alternating rows for a pattern.
6. Add decorative knots such as half hitch or spiral knots for variation.
7. Trim the bottom cords evenly or into a desired shape.
8. Comb out the fringe if desired for a softer look.
9. Hang the dowel on a wall hook or nail.
