Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Cut 10-12 lengths of macrame cord, each about 5 feet long.
2. Attach each cord to the wooden dowel using a Lark's Head knot by folding the cord in half, placing the loop under the dowel, then pulling the ends through the loop.
3. Arrange cords evenly along the dowel.
4. Learn and practice the Square Knot: use four cords at a time, tying the knot by crossing the outer cords over the inner ones.
5. Create rows of Square Knots down the cords, leaving some space between each row (about 2 inches).
6. Incorporate alternating knots or simple twists to add variation.
7. Once the desired length is reached (around 18-20 inches), trim the ends to your preferred shape (straight, diagonal, or V-shaped).
8. Optional: Use a comb or brush to gently fray the ends for a softer look.
9. Hang the finished piece on your wall using nails or hooks.
