Herb-Infused Olive Oil

Create your own flavorful herb-infused olive oil at home to enhance salads, pastas, and bread. This simple process allows you to customize your oil with fresh herbs for a fresh and aromatic kitchen staple.

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Wash and thoroughly dry the fresh herbs to avoid any water in the oil.
2. Lightly bruise the herbs by gently crushing them with your fingers to release their aromas.
3. (Optional) Lightly crush garlic cloves if using.
4. Pour olive oil into a small saucepan and warm over low heat until warm but not boiling (about 120°F or 49°C).
5. Remove the oil from heat and add the herbs and garlic cloves.
6. Let the mixture steep for 1-2 hours at room temperature.
7. Strain the oil through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a clean glass bottle or jar.
8. Seal the container tightly and store in a cool, dark place.
9. Use within 2 weeks for best flavor and freshness.
10. Before using, gently shake the bottle to mix the flavors.
Note: Always ensure the herbs are completely dry before infusing to prevent bacterial growth.

Garlic cloves (optional, 2-3 peeled)
