Art & Illustration Beginner 3 hours $25
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Start by gathering inspiration from nature—look at flowers, leaves, and natural patterns.
2. Use a compass or circular object to draw a large circle in the center of your watercolor paper.
3. Lightly sketch your mandala design within the circle, starting from the center and working outward. Use simple shapes like petals, leaves, or geometric patterns.
4. Once satisfied with your sketch, outline it with a fine-tip black pen or marker if desired.
5. Secure the paper to a flat surface with masking tape to prevent warping.
6. Begin painting with watercolors, starting from the center of the mandala and working outward. Use a wet-on-wet technique for softer blends, or wet-on-dry for more defined edges.
7. Allow each layer to dry before adding additional colors or details.
8. Continue to build your mandala with layers of color, adjusting as needed.
9. Once complete, remove the masking tape and let the artwork dry fully before displaying it.
