Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Cut two rectangles of fabric, each measuring 18" x 24" for the main body of the bag.
2. Cut two strips of fabric for the handles, each measuring 4" x 22".
3. (Optional) Cut interfacing to the same size as your fabric rectangles and adhere it using an iron for added strength.
4. Place the two main fabric pieces right sides together and pin along the sides and bottom, leaving the top open.
5. Sew along the pinned edges with a 1/4" seam allowance.
6. Repeat the same for the handles by folding each strip in half lengthwise, right sides together, and sewing along the long edge.
7. Turn the handles right side out and press them flat with an iron.
8. Attach the handles to the bag by pinning them to the top edges, ensuring they are evenly spaced.
9. Sew along the top edge of the bag to secure the handles, reinforcing the stitching where the handles meet the bag.
10. Turn the bag inside out for a reversible finish, press and your tote bag is ready to use!
