Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Cut the black cardstock to your desired journal size (e.g., 5" x 8").
2. Cut the blank sheets of paper to the same size as the cover. You can use multiple sheets for a thicker journal.
3. Stack the paper sheets together and fold them in half.
4. Use a bone folder to crease the fold well.
5. Mark where you want to make holes for binding along the crease (3-4 holes should work).
6. Use an awl or needle to make holes through the crease.
7. Cut a length of thread and bind the pages together through the holes, tying a knot to secure.
8. Take the black cardstock cover and glue or tape the first and last page to the inside to secure it to the cover.
9. Cut a piece of elastic band long enough to wrap around the journal and secure it to the back cover with glue or tape.
10. Allow everything to dry completely before using your journal.
