Intermediate 3 hours $15
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Sketch simple house and building shapes on black cardstock, including window openings (rectangles, squares, or arched shapes).
2. Cut out the house shapes carefully, then cut out the window openings to create a frame.
3. Cut pieces of clear plastic sheets slightly larger than the window openings.
4. Glue pieces of colored tissue paper onto the back side of the black cardstock window openings, overlapping colors for a stained glass effect.
5. Glue the clear plastic sheets over the tissue paper on the back side to seal and protect it.
6. Repeat for all buildings you want in your village.
7. Cut tabs on the edges of each building piece so they can be folded and connected.
8. Assemble the buildings by folding tabs and gluing or taping edges together to form 3-D shapes.
9. Arrange the village on a windowsill or tabletop.
10. Optionally, place LED tealights inside or behind the village to illuminate the stained glass effect.
11. Allow all glue to dry completely before displaying.
