Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Fold a sheet of cardstock in half to create the card base.
2. Take a second piece of cardstock and fold it in half.
3. Using a pencil and ruler, draw two parallel cuts about 1 inch long inside the folded edge of the second piece, spaced about 1 inch apart.
4. Carefully cut along the lines, then fold the cut section inward to create a pop-up tab.
5. Open the second piece and fold the pop-up tab forward to create the 3D element.
6. Decorate the pop-up tab with shapes or drawings cut from colored paper or drawn directly.
7. Glue the decorated pop-up piece inside the card base, aligning the folds so the pop-up stands when the card is opened.
8. Add additional decorations and write a message on the card as desired.
9. Let glue dry completely before closing and handling the card.
