Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Fold a sheet of cardstock in half to form the card base.
2. Take another piece of cardstock or thick paper and cut a rectangle about 3 inches by 4 inches for the pop-up element.
3. Fold the rectangle in half, then cut two parallel slits about 1 inch apart and 1 inch long on the folded edge to create a tab.
4. Fold the tab inward to create a pop-up step.
5. Decorate the pop-up piece with drawings, colors, or cut-out shapes from colored paper.
6. Glue the pop-up piece inside the card base, aligning the fold with the card crease so the pop-up tab stands up when the card is opened.
7. Decorate the outside and inside of the card with markers, stickers, or stamps as desired.
8. Write your greeting message inside the card.
9. Allow glue to dry before closing or gifting the card.
