Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Measure and mark the placement of your shelves on the wall, spacing them about 8–10 inches apart vertically.
2. Cut the wood boards to your desired shelf length (24" recommended).
3. Sand all surfaces and edges of the boards starting with 120 grit, then finish with 220 grit for a smooth surface.
4. If desired, apply wood stain or paint evenly to each board and let dry completely.
5. Apply a clear polyurethane finish to protect the wood and let dry.
6. Decide the offset pattern: stagger each shelf horizontally by 3–4 inches from the one above it to create the offset effect.
7. Using a stud finder, locate studs in the wall and mark their positions; if studs are unavailable where you want shelves, use wall anchors.
8. Mark drill points on each shelf for mounting brackets or screw holes.
9. Pre-drill holes in the wood shelves to prevent splitting.
10. Attach the shelves to the wall using screws and anchors as needed, ensuring each shelf is level and aligned to the offset pattern.
11. Double-check each shelf’s stability before placing glass vases or glassware.
12. Arrange your glass items on the shelves, distributing weight evenly to avoid tipping.
