Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the wooden platform by sanding it smooth and optionally painting or staining it to your desired finish. Allow to dry completely.
2. Drill a centered hole in the wooden platform sized to snugly fit the bottom of the decorative dowel. This will serve as the tree trunk anchor.
3. Insert the dowel into the hole with a dab of wood glue to secure it. Let glue dry.
4. Arrange the threaded rods in order of length from longest at the bottom to shortest at the top.
5. Slide green and red beads onto each threaded rod, alternating colors as desired. Leave enough exposed threaded rod on each end to secure them.
6. Secure beads in place on each rod by tightening small nuts or applying a dab of glue at each end.
7. Drill evenly spaced holes around the dowel at various heights to insert the threaded rods horizontally as branches. Start from the bottom with the longest rods, moving upward with shorter rods.
8. Insert each beaded threaded rod into the drilled holes, securing them with nuts or threadlocker inside the dowel to ensure stability.
9. Attach the fancy cabinet drawer pull at the top of the dowel as the tree topper using screws or glue.
10. Double-check all branches are secure and the tree stands stable on the base. Make any needed adjustments.
11. Optionally, add a clear coat or additional decoration as desired to finish your sculpture.
