Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Design the slot machine box: measure and cut cardboard pieces for the front, back, sides, top, and bottom. A good size is about 8 inches tall, 5 inches wide, and 4 inches deep.
2. Cut a rectangular window on the front panel where the reels will display.
3. Create three reels by cutting cardboard tubes or rolling cardboard strips into cylinders about 1.5 inches in diameter and 3 inches long.
4. Print or draw symbols (fruits, numbers, etc.) on paper strips and glue them around each reel evenly spaced.
5. Insert the reels through holes cut on the side panels so they can spin freely inside the box, visible through the front window.
6. Make a lever by attaching the wooden dowel to the side of the box with a paper clip or tape, allowing it to pivot.
7. Attach rubber bands inside the box connected to the reels and lever mechanism so that pulling the lever spins the reels.
8. Secure all parts firmly with glue and tape.
9. Decorate the machine with markers or colored paper for a casino feel.
10. Optionally, add a clear plastic sheet over the window to protect the reels.
11. Test the lever to ensure the reels spin when pulled and stop randomly.
12. Adjust rubber bands and reel tension if needed for smooth operation.
