Intermediate 6 hours $20
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare your workspace and gather all materials.
2. Choose or design a Gyanbazi (snakes and ladders) board pattern on graph paper, mapping the squares and the snakes/ladders paths.
3. Transfer the pattern lightly onto the fabric using a fabric marker or pencil.
4. Place the fabric in the embroidery hoop, ensuring it is taut.
5. Begin cross-stitching the board squares using contrasting colors; use distinctive colors/patterns for ladders and snakes.
6. Stitch numbers inside each square, ensuring clarity and readability.
7. Once stitching is complete, carefully remove the fabric from the hoop.
8. Trim the fabric, leaving about an inch border.
9. Attach the fabric to the cardboard or foam board backing using glue or double-sided tape to create a sturdy playing surface.
10. Optionally, spray the finished piece with a clear fabric sealant to protect the stitches.
11. Let it dry completely.
12. Use dice and tokens to play your handcrafted Gyanbazi game or gift it to someone special.
