Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Choose the area on your fabric item where you want to apply the applique and insert a piece of cardboard inside to prevent glue from seeping through.
2. Draw your desired applique shapes on the scrap fabric using a pen or fabric chalk and carefully cut them out.
3. Apply a thin, even layer of fabric adhesive to the back of the fabric applique pieces.
4. Carefully position the glued side of the applique onto the fabric item and press firmly.
5. Use tweezers if needed for precise placement.
6. Allow the adhesive to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions, typically 1-2 hours.
7. For extra durability, some adhesives recommend heat setting; if so, press the applique with an iron on the recommended setting using a cloth barrier.
8. Let the item cure fully before washing or heavy use, generally 24 hours.
