Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Plan and mark out the deck area (202 cm long x 515 cm wide) on level ground.
2. Use a post hole digger to dig holes for the deck’s support posts approximately 60 cm deep and spaced evenly for stable joist support.
3. Pour concrete into holes and set the posts; allow concrete to cure according to instructions.
4. Attach the joists (5 cm x 15 cm) across the posts horizontally, spaced about 40 cm apart, ensuring they are level.
5. Secure the deck boards perpendicular to the joists, leaving a small gap (about 5 mm) between boards for drainage.
6. For the railing, attach the 5 cm x 5 cm posts vertically at the deck edges, spaced evenly to support vertical slats.
7. Affix vertical slats to the posts with a consistent gap, ensuring the bottom of the slats is 15 cm above the deck floor.
8. Install the shelf-like top by fastening 2 cm x 15 cm boards horizontally along the top of the vertical slats, creating a flat surface.
9. Sand any rough edges and apply wood sealer or outdoor paint to protect the deck and railings from weather.
10. Allow the finish to dry fully before use.
