Expandable Arm-Mounted Airsoft Shield

Expandable Arm-Mounted Airsoft Shield

Create a lightweight, expandable shield that attaches securely to your arm for airsoft games. The shield can be extended for protection and retracted by pressing a simple release mechanism, then pushed back into place for compactness.

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Cut two rectangular plastic panels: one slightly larger to serve as the base shield, and one smaller to act as the expandable part.
2. Sand all edges smooth to avoid cuts.
3. Attach foam padding or fabric to the underside of the base panel for arm comfort using glue.
4. Fix Velcro straps on the padded side to secure the shield to your forearm.
5. Create guide rails by gluing or screwing small wooden dowels/plastic rods along the sides of the base panel.
6. Attach the smaller panel so it slides along the guide rails, allowing expansion and retraction.
7. Install a simple spring-loaded locking mechanism: attach a small spring and clip/button so that pressing the clip releases the smaller panel to slide out.
8. Test the sliding and locking mechanism, making adjustments for smooth operation.
9. Use elastic bands to help push the shield back into the retracted position after release.
10. Decorate or paint the shield as desired for personalization.
