Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Select wooden dowels or find sturdy sticks approximately 12 to 18 inches long and about 1 inch in diameter.
2. Use sandpaper to smooth all surfaces and edges of the sticks to avoid splinters.
3. Measure and mark the sticks if you want to create design sections or grip areas.
4. Apply painter's tape or electrical tape to create grip zones or decorative patterns.
5. Paint the sticks with acrylic or spray paint, allowing each coat to dry completely.
6. Once dry, remove the tape carefully to reveal clean lines.
7. Optionally, apply a clear varnish or sealant to protect the paint and wood.
8. Let the varnish dry thoroughly before use.
9. Your homemade batons are now ready for use or display.
