Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Design your boat: Sketch the hull shape and size (around 3 feet long) on paper.
2. Cut the plywood: Transfer the hull shape to plywood and cut out the bottom and side panels.
3. Build the frame: Cut wooden dowels to size and assemble the frame inside the hull for added strength using wood glue and screws.
4. Assemble the hull: Attach the side panels to the bottom panel, securing with wood glue and nails or screws. Use clamps to hold parts until dry.
5. Sand the boat: Smooth all surfaces and edges with medium, then fine grit sandpaper.
6. Seal the wood: Apply waterproof wood sealant or marine varnish in multiple coats, allowing drying time between coats.
7. (Optional) Install motor mount: Create a small platform at the rear inside the hull to mount the motor securely.
8. (Optional) Attach motor: Fix the electric motor to the mount, connect wiring to the battery pack, and secure the propeller through the hull rear.
9. Paint the boat (optional): Decorate your boat with waterproof paint and let dry fully.
10. Test the boat: Place it in calm water and check for leaks or balance issues. Adjust as needed.
11. Maintain your boat: After use, dry thoroughly and reapply sealant annually for longevity.
