Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Select a sturdy plastic storage bin slightly larger than your litter box dimensions to accommodate the box and trash bags.
2. Drill four holes in the bottom corners of the bin to attach the swivel caster wheels. Secure the wheels using screws.
3. Attach two sturdy handles on opposite ends of the bin near the top edge using screws or strong adhesive, ensuring easy grip for room-to-room transport.
4. Using the box cutter, carefully cut a wide opening on the top of the bin, approximately 20" wide and 12" deep, to allow comfortable top-down pouring of litter.
5. At one end of the bin, cut a notch about 2" wide and 1" deep on the rim to serve as an anchor point for the bungee cord.
6. Securely fasten the bungee cord to the notch using a zip tie or loop it through and knot it tightly so it holds the trash bags in place while inverting the bin.
7. Line the bin with two nested heavy-duty trash bags, folding the edges over the bin’s rim and securing them with duct tape or Velcro strips to prevent slipping.
8. Test the stability by placing a filled litter box inside, inverting it over the bin, and ensuring the bungee cord holds the bags securely.
9. For easy dual-bag removal, leave the edges of the bags accessible and untape the securing strips when full.
10. Optionally, cover the bin with a lightweight lid with ventilation holes to reduce odor when not in use (can be made from a plastic cutting board with drilled holes).
11. Clean up edges and ensure all attachments are secure before regular use.
