Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Collect straight twigs or small branches from your yard or nearby area, choosing pieces about pencil-thick and 6 inches long.
2. Use pruners or scissors to trim the twigs to uniform length.
3. If desired, use sandpaper to smooth one end of each twig for writing, or carefully use a knife to whittle one side flat.
4. Use a permanent marker or paint pen to write the name of each plant on the flattened or smoothed end of the twig.
5. (Optional) Wrap a small piece of twine around the top for added decoration.
6. Insert the markers into the soil near your plants.
