Upcycled Wine Bottle Garden Lights

Transform empty wine bottles into charming garden lights using string lights and basic household tools. These decorative lights add a whimsical glow to your outdoor space and are an eco-friendly way to repurpose glass bottles.

Beginner 1 hour $15
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Clean each wine bottle thoroughly and remove any labels or adhesive residue.
2. Ensure the bottles are completely dry inside and out.
3. Carefully feed the LED string lights into the bottle using your fingers or a funnel, leaving the battery pack outside the bottle.
4. If you prefer to conceal the battery pack, use a small screwdriver or awl to carefully make a hole near the base of the bottle (be cautious—wear gloves and go slowly). Thread the string lights in through the hole and secure the battery pack underneath the bottle.
5. For extra stability, add a layer of decorative stones or sand inside the bottle before inserting the lights.
6. To hang the bottles, wrap twine or wire securely around the neck and create a loop for hanging. Alternatively, simply place bottles around the garden or on tables.
7. Turn on the LED lights and place your new decorative bottles in your garden or patio area.
