Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Cut the lumber according to the cut list:
- Bottom tier sides: 2 pieces 80cm (width), 2 pieces 40cm (depth)
- Bottom tier corner posts: 4 pieces 30cm
- Top tier sides: 2 pieces 50cm (width), 2 pieces 40cm (depth)
- Top tier corner posts: 4 pieces 50cm
- Top cap boards: 2 pieces 50cm (to cover 15cm horizontal gaps on bottom tier shoulders)
2. Sand all cut pieces to smooth edges and surfaces.
3. Assemble bottom tier box:
- Attach 80cm boards to 40cm boards forming a rectangle using screws and corner posts at each corner.
- Fix 30cm corner posts vertically at each corner inside the box to support height.
4. Assemble top tier box similarly using 50cm and 40cm boards with 50cm corner posts.
5. Center the top tier on the bottom tier shoulders, ensuring 15cm horizontal gaps on each side.
6. Attach the top tier securely to the bottom tier using screws through the bottom tier’s top edges into the bottom of the top tier corner posts.
7. Install the top cap boards over the 15cm horizontal gaps on the bottom tier shoulders, screwing them into the bottom tier sides.
8. Line both tiers with plastic liners to protect wood from moisture.
9. Optionally, sand any rough spots and apply wood sealant or paint for outdoor durability.
