Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the kitchen roll tube by painting it with silver, gray, or metallic colors to resemble a rocket body. Let it dry completely.
2. Cut out rocket fins and a nose cone from colored foam sheets. Attach the fins evenly around the base of the tube and glue the nose cone to the top.
3. Use cotton balls or scrunched tissue paper painted in reds, oranges, and yellows to create rocket flames. Glue them to the bottom inside of the rocket tube.
4. To make planets, cut various sized circles from foam sheets in different colors.
5. Decorate each planet with markers or paint to add details like rings, craters, or stripes.
6. Optionally, attach string or thin wire to the planets to hang them around the rocket or from a backdrop.
7. Arrange the rocket and planets on a black or dark blue construction paper to simulate space, or attach them to a handpiece base (like a thick cardboard strip) for wearing.
8. Let all glue and paint dry thoroughly before handling.
9. Once dry, wear or display your universe handpiece with pride!
