Upcycled T-Shirt Tote Bag

Upcycled T-Shirt Tote Bag

Transform an old, worn-out t-shirt into a reusable tote bag with no sewing required. This project helps reduce waste by giving new life to fabric that might otherwise be discarded.

Upcycling & Sustainability Beginner 1 hour
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Lay the t-shirt flat on a clean surface, smoothing out wrinkles.
2. Cut off the sleeves along the seam to create handles.
3. Cut off the neckline to make a larger opening.
4. Turn the t-shirt inside out.
5. Measure and mark about 4 inches from the bottom hem.
6. Cut fringe strips about 1 inch wide and 4 inches long along the bottom edge.
7. Tie each front fringe strip to the corresponding back strip in a double knot to close the bottom of the bag.
8. Turn the t-shirt right side out.
9. Your tote bag is ready to use for groceries, books, or everyday items.
