Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Lay the jeans flat and cut off the legs just below the crotch seam, keeping the top part with pockets intact.
2. Turn the cut piece inside out and sew the bottom closed to form the base of the tote bag.
3. Use the cut-off legs to create handles: cut two strips about 2 inches wide and 18 inches long.
4. Fold each strip in half lengthwise, sew along the edge, then turn right side out to create sturdy handles.
5. Pin and sew the handles securely to the inside of the bag opening.
6. Optional: Decorate the bag with patches or fabric paint to personalize.
7. Turn the bag right side out and check all seams for durability.
8. Your upcycled denim tote bag is ready to use!
