Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Print the foundation paper piecing pattern that depicts the waterfall scene with 1/2" seam allowances.
2. Cut fabric pieces slightly larger than each section on the pattern.
3. Starting with section 1, place the fabric right side up on the unprinted side of the paper so it covers the entire section with seam allowance.
4. Place fabric for section 2 right sides together with section 1 fabric, aligning edges along the seam line.
5. Sew along the printed seam line on the paper.
6. Fold paper back and trim seam allowance to 1/2".
7. Press fabric open with an iron.
8. Repeat steps 3-7 for each subsequent section until the entire block is pieced.
9. Carefully trim the block to the outer edge of the 1/2" seam allowance.
10. Remove foundation paper by gently tearing it away from the back.
11. Press the finished block flat.
12. Use suggested colors: blues and whites for water, grays for rocks, greens and browns for surrounding landscape.
13. Incorporate the block into your quilt or display as a standalone piece.
