Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Measure and mark your wood plank to create the base dimensions (approx. 12" long by 6" wide).
2. Mark a slot approximately 1/2" deep and wide enough to hold your smartphone upright (about 1/2" to 3/4" wide), centered near one edge of the plank.
3. Using a saw, carefully cut along the slot markings. Clean up the slot with sandpaper.
4. Drill a hole behind the slot, large enough to thread a charging cable through (approx. 1/2" diameter).
5. Sand the entire wood piece thoroughly, starting with medium grit and finishing with fine grit to remove rough edges.
6. Optional: Apply wood stain or paint to your preference. Allow it to dry completely.
7. Apply a clear finish or sealant to protect the wood and give it a polished look. Let dry as per product instructions.
8. Thread your charging cable through the drilled hole and place your smartphone in the slot for charging.
9. Optional: Use wood glue and clamps to attach small wooden feet or a backrest piece for stability and improved design.
10. Allow all glue and finishes to cure fully before use.
