Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Plan and mark the slope area in your backyard to accommodate a 2-meter vertical height and about 3.2 meters horizontal length for a 35-degree incline.
2. Clear and level the ground where the structure will sit. Lay down a gravel and sand base to ensure drainage and stability.
3. Build the frame: construct two side supports from 4x4 posts cut to 2 meters, spaced to your desired slope width (about 1.5m). Connect the sides with cross beams every 30 cm using 2x4 lumber to create a strong, rigid frame.
4. Attach plywood sheets over the frame decking, securing them with wood screws. Make sure the surface is smooth and stable.
5. Design and build a small takeoff jump near the base using extra plywood and 2x4s. The jump should have a gentle curve to launch riders onto the rail.
6. Secure the metal rail parallel to the slope about 1 meter above the ground, slightly offset from the jump so riders can land on it smoothly.
7. Cover the entire slope and jump surface with synthetic turf or artificial ski matting, gluing and stapling it securely to the plywood.
8. Seal all exposed wood with outdoor paint or sealant to protect from weather.
9. Test the slope carefully before use, ensuring all parts are secure and stable.
10. Enjoy practicing your summer skiing or snowboarding tricks safely at home!
