Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Wash and dry the lemon thoroughly.
2. Using the paring knife, carefully cut a small door-shaped opening on one side of the lemon, large enough for the resin bluebird to 'enter'.
3. Use the spoon or melon baller to gently scoop out some of the lemon flesh inside this opening to create a hollow space.
4. Pat the inside hollow dry with paper towels to reduce moisture.
5. Insert a small piece of craft foam or sponge inside the hollow space to help stabilize the bird and absorb moisture.
6. Attach the resin bluebird to a toothpick or small skewer using glue, allowing it to be positioned upright.
7. Carefully insert the bird into the hollow space inside the lemon door, adjusting for a suitable perch effect.
8. Optional: paint small details or patterns around the lemon exterior to enhance the birdhouse look.
9. Let glue dry completely before displaying the centerpiece.
10. Place the completed lemon birdhouse on a decorative plate or tray for presentation.
