Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Select colorful and meaningful pages from your old children’s books, focusing on illustrations and text that your kids will love.
2. Use a ruler and pencil to measure and mark uniform sizes for page cutouts (e.g., 4x6 inches or squares) to create a neat collage.
3. Carefully cut out the selected pages with scissors or a craft knife.
4. Arrange the cutouts on your canvas panel or poster board without gluing, experimenting with layouts until you find a pleasing design.
5. Once satisfied, lift each piece and apply a thin layer of Mod Podge or clear glue to the back, then press it firmly onto the panel.
6. Cover the entire surface with a thin layer of Mod Podge to seal and protect the pages, brushing in one direction.
7. Allow to dry completely, then optionally apply a second coat for durability.
8. For extra protection and a matte finish, lightly spray the collage with clear acrylic sealer in a well-ventilated area.
9. Attach picture hanging hardware to the back of the canvas or board.
10. Hang the collage securely in your kids’ playroom as a personalized, colorful art piece.
