Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Measure and cut the pine wood boards to create the cabinet box: two side panels (8" x 12"), one top panel (8" x 10"), one bottom panel (8" x 10"), and one back panel (1/4" plywood optional, 10" x 12").
2. Sand all pieces smoothly with 120 grit sandpaper, then finish with 220 grit for a fine surface.
3. Assemble the cabinet box by gluing and screwing the side panels to the top and bottom panels, forming a rectangular frame. Use clamps to hold pieces together if available.
4. Attach the back panel by screwing it onto the assembled box, ensuring it is flush and square.
5. Cut the door panel from the remaining pine board to 8" x 12".
6. Sand the door panel smooth and finish with your chosen wood finish or paint; allow to dry.
7. Position the door on one side of the cabinet, leaving a small gap (about 1/8") for clearance.
8. Attach the two brass hinges to the door and then to the cabinet side panel using screws, ensuring the door swings open smoothly.
9. Install the cabinet knob or handle on the door at a comfortable height.
10. Apply a final coat of finish or paint touch-ups as needed and let dry completely before use.
