Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Cut the lumber as follows:
- 8 pieces at 32 inches (for the top and bottom shelves)
- 4 pieces at 8 inches (for the depth of the shelves)
- 4 pieces at 12 inches (for the legs)
- 4 pieces at 30 inches (for the support braces between the legs)
2. Assemble the first stand:
- Create a rectangle using two 32-inch pieces and two 8-inch pieces for the top shelf.
- Secure the corners using wood screws and wood glue.
3. Attach the legs:
- On each corner of the rectangle, attach a 12-inch leg. Ensure they are flush with the bottom of the shelf.
- Secure using screws and glue.
4. Repeat steps 2-3 for the second stand.
5. Add support braces:
- Attach the 30-inch support braces between the legs about 6 inches from the bottom of the stand for stability.
6. Sand all surfaces with medium and then fine grit sandpaper to remove any splinters and rough edges.
7. Optionally, apply wood finish or paint to enhance the appearance.
8. Allow the finish to dry completely before placing pots on the stands.
