Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare your workspace by covering it with aluminum foil or a clean surface.
2. Condition the polymer clay by kneading it until soft and pliable.
3. Roll out the clay to about 1/8 inch (3 mm) thickness using a rolling pin or smooth bottle.
4. Press the lace fabric gently but firmly onto the clay surface to create an impression.
5. Carefully peel the lace off to reveal the textured pattern.
6. Using a craft knife, cut out a simple bird shape (e.g., stylized silhouette) from the textured clay.
7. Use a needle or pin to make a small hole near the top of the bird for hanging.
8. Optionally, add subtle details with acrylic paint using muted colors, such as eyes or wing highlights.
9. Bake the clay according to the manufacturer's instructions (usually around 265°F/130°C for 15-30 minutes).
10. Let the ornament cool completely.
11. Apply a thin coat of clear varnish to protect the surface and enhance colors.
12. Thread a thin ribbon or twine through the hole for hanging.
13. Your delicate lace-impressed bird ornament is ready to decorate your tree or gift.
