Pressurized Wooden Pallet Security Gate

Pressurized Wooden Pallet Security Gate

Create a sturdy, pressure-mounted security gate for doorways using reclaimed wooden pallet slats. This gate fits securely without hardware by using tension, making it an ideal temporary or rental-friendly security solution.

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Measure the width and height of your doorway where you want to install the gate.
2. Cut the pallet slats to create vertical side pieces matching the height of the doorway.
3. Cut horizontal slats to fit between the vertical side pieces, spacing them evenly to create the gate panel.
4. Sand all wood pieces smooth to avoid splinters.
5. Arrange the horizontal slats between the vertical sides and glue them in place. Use clamps to hold if available.
6. Reinforce the glued joints by screwing wood screws through the vertical sides into the horizontal slats.
7. Allow glue to dry completely (follow glue drying times).
8. Apply wood stain or paint if desired and let dry.
9. Attach rubber pads or non-slip tape to the ends of the vertical slats to protect your doorframe and increase grip.
10. Position the gate inside the doorway and use the spring-loaded tension rods vertically on each side between the gate and doorframe to apply pressure and hold the gate in place securely.
11. Adjust tension rods to ensure a tight fit without damaging the doorframe.
12. Test the gate for stability and adjust as needed.
