1. Measure your room and ensure you have enough space for a raised king-size bed (approx. 76"x80") with at least 4 ft of clearance underneath for the desk and gaming area.
2. Cut the 2x6 lumber to create the main bed platform frame: two long side pieces (approx. 80"), two short end pieces (approx. 76"), and multiple cross supports spaced about 16" apart.
3. Assemble the bed frame by screwing the 2x6 pieces together using wood screws and wood glue for added strength.
4. Cut plywood to fit the top of the frame platform (bed base) and attach it securely with screws.
5. Build two bookcase platforms to flank the bed on the left and right sides using 2x4 lumber for the frame and plywood for the shelves and backing. The platforms should be about 16" deep and as tall as the bed platform height.
6. Attach the bookcase platforms securely to the sides of the bed frame using screws and L-brackets.
7. Construct the desk frame to fit underneath the bed, using 2x4s to build a sturdy rectangular frame with legs, sized to fit the available space (approx. 72" wide x 30" deep).
8. Cut a plywood top for the desk surface and attach it to the frame.
9. Sand all surfaces smooth, starting with 120 grit sandpaper and finishing with 220 grit.
10. Optionally, apply wood stain or paint to all wooden parts and allow to dry.
11. Apply a polyurethane finish to protect surfaces and allow drying.
12. Assemble and place adjustable shelves inside the bookcase platforms using shelf pins or fixed shelving.
13. Position the completed bed frame with bookcases and desk in your room.
14. Add your mattress on top and set up your gaming equipment and desk accessories under the bed.
15. Check stability and reinforce any weak joints with additional screws or brackets as needed.
