Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare your work surface by laying down a cutting mat or protective layer.
2. Draw or print a slot and tab house template sized to fit your 3mm wood sheet. The template should include walls, roof, base, and tabs designed to fit into slots.
3. Transfer the template onto the wood sheet by either tracing or printing and placing it under a thin wood sheet.
4. Carefully cut out each piece using a craft knife or fine saw, making sure the slots and tabs are cleanly cut for a snug fit.
5. Sand the edges and slots lightly to remove splinters and ensure smooth fitting.
6. Test fit the tabs into the slots, adjusting with sanding if needed for a tight but not forced fit.
7. Once all pieces fit well, assemble the house by slotting pieces together. Apply wood glue at the joints if desired for added durability.
8. Use clamps or clips to hold parts together while the glue dries.
9. After assembly and drying, optionally sand the assembled house lightly and finish with paint or wood finish if desired.
