Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Select a wooden pallet that is sturdy and free from chemicals or contaminants.
2. Sand the pallet thoroughly to remove rough edges and splinters.
3. (Optional) Apply exterior paint or wood stain to protect the wood from weathering; allow to dry completely.
4. Cut landscape fabric to cover the back and bottom of each pallet section where soil will be placed.
5. Secure the fabric to the pallet using a staple gun to create pockets for soil.
6. Fill each pocket with potting soil, ensuring it is packed but not overly compacted.
7. Plant herb seedlings or sow seeds in each soil pocket according to the herb's spacing requirements.
8. Water the planted herbs gently to settle the soil.
9. Mount the pallet vertically against a wall or fence using hooks or brackets, or lean it securely in a sunny spot.
10. Maintain your herb garden by watering regularly and harvesting herbs as needed.
