Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare your workspace by laying down newspaper or a protective sheet.
2. Sand the wooden plank thoroughly to smooth out any rough edges and surfaces, starting with medium grit and finishing with fine grit.
3. Use a pencil to lightly sketch your desired message, such as "Welcome Baby [Name]" or "Baby Shower Garden" onto the wood. Use stencils or printed letters if you want neat, uniform text.
4. Paint the background of the wooden plank with a light color and allow it to dry completely.
5. Paint over your penciled message with your chosen colors. Use small brushes for detail work. Allow the paint to dry.
6. Once the paint is dry, apply a clear outdoor sealant spray to protect your design from weather elements. Let it dry according to the sealant instructions.
7. Attach the wooden plank to the garden stake or post using wood glue or small screws. If using screws, drill pilot holes first to avoid splitting the wood.
8. Allow all glue or paint to dry fully before placing the sign into the garden soil or a plant pot.
9. Position the sign in your garden area where it will be visible during the baby shower event.
