Beginner 2 hours $5
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Draw and cut out the main body of the clock from cardboard in a house shape (a square base with a triangular roof).
2. Cut out a small door near the top center where the bird will pop out.
3. Decorate the clock body using markers or paint to create a traditional cuckoo clock look.
4. Create a small bird by cutting a simple bird shape from cardboard, then color it.
5. Attach the bird to a small wooden stick or skewer using glue.
6. Insert the stick through a small hole at the back or bottom of the bird door, allowing the bird to slide in and out.
7. Use string or thin wire to create a pull mechanism on the back so you can manually move the bird in and out.
8. Add the clock face by drawing it or gluing a printout onto the clock body.
9. Optionally, bend a paperclip or use a small spring to create a simple lever mechanism for the bird’s movement.
10. Let all glue dry before testing your cuckoo bird movement.
11. Display your handmade cuckoo clock model as a cute decorative piece.
