Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Choose and prepare your portrait image, simplifying it into clear color blocks suitable for mosaic translation.
2. Transfer the design onto the backing board using tracing paper and pencil.
3. Select and sort your glass tiles by color and size according to your design plan.
4. Wear safety gloves and goggles before carefully cutting and shaping tiles with the glass cutter and tile nippers.
5. Begin adhering tiles onto the backing board, starting from the center or a key focal point, following your drawn design.
6. Leave small gaps between tiles to allow for grouting; maintain consistent spacing.
7. Allow adhesive to dry completely (usually 24 hours).
8. Prepare grout according to package instructions and spread it evenly over the tiles, pressing it into gaps.
9. Use a damp sponge to wipe off excess grout and smooth the surface; allow grout to cure fully.
10. Once dry, apply a sealant spray to protect and enhance the mosaic surface.
11. Clean the mosaic gently and mount or frame as desired for display.
