Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Choose 3-4 colors of cardstock to create a visually appealing color palette.
2. Using a ruler and pencil, draw several geometric shapes such as triangles, hexagons, and diamonds on the cardstock. Alternatively, print and cut out geometric templates to trace.
3. Cut out all shapes carefully using scissors or a craft knife on a cutting mat.
4. Fold some shapes along lines to create 3D facets - for example, fold triangles in half or fold edges to add dimension.
5. Arrange the cut shapes on a flat surface to design your art layout. Play with layering and overlapping to create depth.
6. Glue some of the shapes directly on a backing cardstock or lightweight board, and use small folded paper pieces or foam tape underneath others to raise them and enhance the 3D effect.
7. Once glued and arranged, let the piece dry fully.
8. Attach double-sided tape or mounting squares to the back of the finished art and hang it on your wall.
