Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare your workspace by covering it with plastic to protect surfaces.
2. Pre-wash the t-shirt to remove any sizing or chemicals; keep it damp.
3. Put on gloves to protect your hands from dyes.
4. Lay the damp t-shirt flat and decide on a tie-dye pattern (spiral, stripes, bullseye, etc.).
5. Use rubber bands to bind sections of the t-shirt according to your chosen pattern.
6. Prepare dye according to the instructions on the tie-dye kit.
7. Apply dye to the bound t-shirt sections using plastic squeeze bottles, applying different colors as desired.
8. Once dye is applied, place the t-shirt in a plastic bag or wrap to keep it damp and let it sit for 6-8 hours or overnight for vibrant colors.
9. After the setting time, rinse the t-shirt under cold water until the water runs clear.
10. Remove rubber bands and wash the t-shirt separately in cold water.
11. Dry the t-shirt according to fabric instructions, ideally air drying or tumble dry low.
12. Your custom tie-dye t-shirt is ready to wear!
