Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Lay the tote bag flat on a clean surface and insert the cardboard inside to prevent paint from bleeding through.
2. Lightly sketch your desired design onto the tote bag with a pencil. Use stencils if you want precise shapes.
3. Prepare your fabric paints on the palette and test colors on a scrap piece of fabric if available.
4. Using paintbrushes, carefully fill in your design with fabric paint. Start with lighter colors and build up to darker shades.
5. Allow the paint to dry completely, following the manufacturer's drying time instructions (usually 1-2 hours).
6. Once dry, heat-set the paint if required by your fabric paint instructions (often done by ironing the reverse side).
7. Remove the cardboard insert and your custom tote bag is ready to use or gift!
