Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare your workspace by covering it with a plastic table cover or garbage bags to protect from dye stains.
2. Put on plastic gloves to protect your hands from dye.
3. Lay the white t-shirt flat and decide on your tie-dye pattern (spiral, stripes, bullseye, etc.).
4. For a spiral, pinch the center of the shirt and twist it tightly into a spiral shape.
5. Secure the twisted shirt with rubber bands crossing over the spiral to hold it in place.
6. Mix your fabric dyes according to package instructions in separate squeeze bottles.
7. Apply dye to different sections of the shirt within the rubber band segments, using different colors as desired.
8. Once fully dyed, place the shirt in a plastic bag and let it set for 6-8 hours or as directed by the dye instructions.
9. After setting, rinse the shirt under cold water until the water runs clear.
10. Wash the shirt separately in mild detergent and air dry or tumble dry on low heat.
11. Your custom tie-dye t-shirt is ready to wear!
