Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Fold the cardstock in half to create a card.
2. On the front of the card, plan your design where you want the LEDs to light up.
3. Cut short strips of copper tape to create a simple circuit on the inside of the card, connecting the positive side of the battery to the positive leg of each LED, and the negative side of the battery to the negative leg of each LED.
4. Place the LEDs on the front side of the card so their legs poke through the cardstock to the inside.
5. Secure the LEDs legs to the copper tape on the inside using small pieces of copper tape, ensuring correct polarity (longer leg is positive).
6. Attach the coin cell battery on the inside of the card, making sure the positive side touches the copper tape connected to LED positives and the negative side touches the other copper tape line.
7. Use clear tape to hold the battery and copper tape securely in place.
8. Test the LEDs by gently pressing the battery against the tape; the lights should turn on.
9. Decorate the front of the card with pens, markers, or stickers to enhance the holiday theme.
10. To turn on the card, press the battery firmly against the copper tape or design a small flap that connects the circuit when closed.
