Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Measure and mark the pine wood board to 24 inches in length.
2. Cut the board to size using a hand saw or circular saw.
3. Sand all surfaces and edges with 120 grit sandpaper, then finish with 220 grit for a smooth surface.
4. (Optional) Apply wood stain or paint evenly with a brush or rag and allow to dry as per product instructions.
5. Attach the L-shaped mounting brackets to the underside of the shelf near the ends using wood screws and wood glue for extra strength.
6. Locate the desired wall position and mark where the brackets will be mounted.
7. Drill pilot holes in the wall; insert wall anchors if mounting on drywall.
8. Screw the brackets securely into the wall.
9. Place the shelf on the mounted brackets and check stability.
10. Adjust as needed and enjoy your new floating shelf.
