1. Design and plan the coffee table dimensions, including tabletop size, leg height, and drawer dimensions.
2. Select and prepare hardwood boards by cutting them to size for the tabletop, legs, and drawer front.
3. Join tabletop boards using wood glue and clamps to create a solid, flat surface; allow drying.
4. Use a router to create smooth, rounded edges on the tabletop.
5. Cut plywood pieces for drawer bottom and internal supports.
6. Construct the drawer box by assembling sides, front, back, and bottom using wood glue and screws.
7. Install drawer slides inside the table frame and on the drawer box.
8. Build the table frame by assembling legs and apron pieces; secure with screws and glue.
9. Attach the tabletop to the frame using screws from underneath and wood glue.
10. Sand all surfaces progressively from 80 to 220 grit until smooth.
11. Fill any holes or imperfections with wood filler, let dry, then sand again.
12. Apply wood stain or oil finish evenly; allow to dry completely.
13. Seal the table with several coats of polyurethane or lacquer, sanding lightly between coats.
14. Attach drawer handles or knobs.
15. Insert the drawer and test smooth operation.
16. Final inspection and touch-ups before use.
