Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Cut the pine board to 12" x 18" for the tray base.
2. Cut four pieces of 1" x 2" pine strips: two at 18" and two at 12" for the sides.
3. Sand all wood pieces with 120 grit sandpaper to smooth rough edges.
4. Assemble the tray sides by gluing and screwing the 1" x 2" strips together to form a rectangle frame.
5. Attach the frame to the base board using wood glue and screws, ensuring edges are flush.
6. Sand the entire tray with 220 grit sandpaper for a smooth finish.
7. Apply wood stain or paint if desired and let dry fully.
8. Apply a protective coat of polyurethane for durability; allow to dry.
9. Attach handles on the shorter sides of the tray with screws.
10. Let all finishes cure according to product instructions before use.
